It’s amazing how much your life can change during a war. Even more amazing is how much you can you can change as a person without anyone noticing.
Of course, people have noticed that I quit all of the clubs I was involved in and tried out for Quidditch. Of course they noticed that I’m the new Keeper on the team. They just don’t seem to pay attention to how much extra time I spend practicing, which means it never occurred to them that I just want to be alone.
I’ve not told anyone that Mum was killed over the summer. It’s just too private to want to talk about. My younger brother in Ravenclaw, Abe, has probably told the whole school by now, so it probably isn’t much of a secret. But as long as no one talks to me about it, I’m not going to bring it up. As far as my fellow Gryffindors know, I’m the same person who left at the end of sixth year and I like it that way.
